Desire - Wearable Art

Designer Mary Katrantzou created a dazzling debut for her first stand-alone fashion show for Spring 2011. Her collection was a feast for the eyes. The designer was inspired by the work of photographers Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin; their highly stylized images are reflected in each dress that hit the runway.  The garments were adorned with graphic prints pulled from vintage editions of Architectural Digest and World of Interiors and skirts were fashioned into lampshades. Each a surreal masterpiece.

  1. I'm pretty sure Cate Blanchett wore a dress from this collection at the oscars last year, these pieces are stunning, true works of art.
